Welcome to CarolinaCoffey. No, it’s not a typo. As John Coffey said in the Green Mile, “Just like the drink, only not spelled the same.” Coffey is actually my maiden name but I stick with it because 1. It’s fun to say and 2. I work with someone who has the same name as me if I used my married last name. It would lead to a ton of confusion when it comes to emails.
Becoming a mother in August 2017 was one of the best experiences of my life. Through my pregnancy and daughter’s first year of life, I quickly noticed that everyone’s story is different. Some people tend to focus on the negative aspects and like to “scare” other moms. Others spread mom guilt if they don’t feel that a mom is doing things “correctly.” While yes, there are some basic health and safety rules that should be abided by, the truth is we are all just doing the best we can to figure out this thing called motherhood.
My goal is to help connect moms in an uplifting environment and show that every mom’s journey is beautiful. No matter your situation, every mom has a story to share and we can learn from each other’s experiences. As the saying goes, “I get by with a little help of my friends.”
While being a mom is a full time job, my day job is as a healthcare marketer in Charlotte, NC. Yes, I’m a North Carolina native and love being in the south. My husband and I enjoy playing sports and traveling as our schedule allows. I promise, we’re fun people ….or at least we like to think so.
